The Good Morning Thread

Call centers don't bother me, I can tolerate the customers. Been doing it for 30 years. What I can't stand is the Management. With their Quotas and junk. Just let me do my damn job!

Anyway, The doctor seems to think that I have an Auto-Immune disease. What specifically he won't speculate, but I've got a Rheumatology appointment in August-- I just have to remain alive enough to get there. I had some blood work. My Vitamin D has fallen to even a lower critical rate of 13 ng/mL, despite ingesting 5,000 IU of Vitamin D3 with K2 everyday since July of last year. I asked ChatGPT about it, and it told me that my immune system is gobbling up all the available Vitamin D because it's hyper active. I need a biologic, and only the Rheumatologist will be able to get me that. So, I have to suffer with complete exhaustion until probably September at the earliest. Yeah, it's pretty bad, I'm falling asleep on the Subway now too. I should probably be on some kind of Disability, but I live in the USA. Good luck with remaining alive, right?

Oh, I also probably have a hernia too. At least that's what the Doc said. It's hard to tell because I don't have anything physical to show for, besides some mild discomfort. Oh! The joys of getting older....

Well... GOO9OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD Morning!

(Now that I'm wheezing, panting, and completely out of energy...)

I hope today is a blessed day for everybody. It's TUESDAY. A freakin' Tuesday. At least it isn't a Monday after a major holiday, so that's positive, right?

This morning, I got up really early-- pain demanded the sacrifice of sleep, so here I am. Anyway, I made fresh Peach Mint Lemonade. My apartment smells absolutely AWESOME while making that reduction. After I try some tonight, I'll probably post the recipe. No reason to post something if it's crap, right? But somehow, my nose is telling me that this is going to be awesome, and I like other things better than peaches.

I'm also making Butter Chicken in the Crock Pot for tonight. So, I'll go to work, and practically everything will be done!

In other news, I got prescribed a Vitamin D supplement. This thing has like 50,000 IU of Vitamin D2, that I have to take weekly for eight weeks. Why? Because my Vitamin D level is 13 ng/mL, and the normal human range is between 30 and 100. As a result of being so critically deficient, yesterday, I actually fell asleep at work, while on my lunch break!

So, what happens when your Vitamin D reaches zero? I'm sure it's nothing good. Because right now, I have severe Brain Fog, physical exhaustion (after doing, really nothing anyway), I can't multitask, even if my life depended on it. My body aches. Deeply. And it's hard to walk. Like just to move my legs, they don't want to obey, so I have to like concentrate just to walk. It's really hard to describe.

And here I am, trying like hell to find a different job. 😅🤣
Grandma needs to be put in a home, not be looking for another job. 🙃

I hope you start feeling better soon now that you're being prescribed a Vitamin D supplement! I am so sorry to hear that.

I'm also going for a blood work check up myself in about a week or two to check my levels as well, I'm quite curious on how my thyroid is doing since it's been a long time since it's been tested.
So I asked my doctor to check that. I was previously on a Thyroid medication about 7 years ago too.

They're also going to check my vitamin levels as well. I know on my previous labs, I was low on iron though.

Peach mint lemonade sounds really good! I'll definately have to try it out, I've never had that type of lemonade before. ^.^

I totally feel your pain in regards to the leg pain as well, however, not exactly the same, but I was dealing with a nagging right Ankle injury for a while there. I broke that ankle twice in the past, but now it's slowly doing a bit better. I do have some form of Gout(Arthritis) that acts up here and there, smh.

Good afternoon everyone! This week was a crazy one at work. We were informed that a few people are going to be laid off, we don't know who and we don't know when. Every one including management can be let go... Which I'm nervous but they also mentioned that if you're at meeting or exceeding expectations you have a lesser chance of getting laid off which I am and my mid year review was good so I think I will be fine. I hope I will be at least.

But yet we're not in a Recession, so They say. But businesses are actively contracting, on a large scale across most if not all industries. I don't bother watching the "news" anymore.

Anyway, I hope that your income is deemed safe!

Last night I discovered a copy of Kiddy Grade and Dirty Pair, so I'll probably be watching those classics this week. Maybe I'll get inspired to try yet another role playing game. LOL Even if it is only a solo game.

Good morning!

I woke up with a charlie horse and a migraine this morning. My first day at my new schedule, from 10 am to 7 pm. I'm not gonna get home until at least 9, and then I get to start dinner, eat, and probably get to bed around 11. Oh joy....

So, while I'm not falling asleep on the subway this morning, I'll try to work on my book a little more. I want to make a space opera episode! Because, why not?!

Well, today at least my head isn't pounding, so I'll take that as a win! But... that extra hour of standing on my feet wrecked my right foot! OMG, does it hurt this morning. Glad I've only got two more days of work this week. Still haven't heard anything from the other potential employer. I'll give 'em until the end of the week to respond before I write them off. This economy totally sucks ass.

Yesterday evening was interesting. I guess Mint Mobile had an outage. All I know is that I couldn't make any phone calls or send text messages, and being away from home with no wifi meant no internet either. Luckily, I could revert to 80s mode, and the street lights were just beginning to turn on when I got home last night. But those couple of hours with out instant connectivity really showed me how dependent we are upon this technology that we take for granted these days. Like, could you occupy yourself without reaching for the Internet for a couple of hours? Would you truly enjoy it? I mean, I've got enough introverted hobbies that I can most certainly keep myself entertained. But, people like my partner, I don't think she could. She's connected to the Internet in one way or another, literally attached to the hip. I fear she wouldn't do so great without instant connectivity.

Today, I hope to write a bit more, maybe define what makes each of my Misfits stand out in a crowd-- something I saw posted on Threads last night, and I got to thinking:

Well, of course, you'd be able to pick out all of my characters in a crowd! Just look for the pink-haired be-bopper, the goth preteen carrying a bazooka, the tall tomboy nerd completely engrossed in her phone, the literal martial artist with long beautiful hair, wearing a full Gi-- out in public, and ... the guy drinking coffee from a standard desk mug? Maybe not him so much, I think he's the most normal of the group, at least until he turns into a teenaged female cheerleader! But yeah, I think I need more umph...

So, yesterday I had a spark of innovation regarding my TTRPG system that I'm wanting to build. I'm going to be continuing to use the Step Dice mechanic (think SWADE), but I going to develop the character creation as a hybrid between Traveller and Cypher System.

I loved how you create a character in Traveller. Games like MAID do it well too, where you're character is at the mercy of the dice. But, it sucks when you really want to play a specific trope of character, and the dice just don't roll that way. However, building the character on the edge of your seat is exhilarating too! So, I'm going to figure out a way to gently steer your character development through the chaos of the randomness.

In Traveller, for every term you get to choose if you want to increase a Stat or choose a Skill. I'll be keeping that choice, but to have a bit more player agency (control), I'm going to think of a way to have another selection made available to the player during each term that guides a character into a common anime trope-- that's my thinking assignment today while I'm sleeping on the Subway or bus, and maybe while I'm standing around at work looking busy...

This way, if I have a character concept ... I want to play a Magical Girl, or a Martial Artist, for example (or maybe a hybrid of the two?), I can purposely make a selection that will push the character build toward the established tropes of Magical Girl and/or Martial Artist, by granting special abilities, resources, etc that only those tropes have access to (typically within anime).

In other news, I still haven't heard back from that employer. Granted, it's only Wednesday, but this isn't feeling too optimistic. But... I did find another job title to search up, I just need to determine how to translate my Customer Service, Warehouse, Retail, and limited Food Service skills into things that are needed for a Third Party Admin role. And then of course, I'd need to validate that the pay is enough for two people to live on one paycheck.

Good evening everyone! I've been feeling like garbage today so I didn't do much. I took a nap earlier too which I normally don't do unless I'm extremely tired or not feeling well. Since I had my small dinner I am feeling a little better.

Good morning everybody!

I've been slowly working on my TTRPG system. It's actually a lot of work to throw together a system! There's lots of little pieces to think about. In fact, I think one of these days, I'm going to sit down and write an article about what goes into designing your own TTRPG, because there's a lot of stuff that I've tripped over as I've been building this monstrosity! And I'll be sure to ask the questions you SHOULD start with before even beginning the design work, because answering those questions will certainly save you from a lot of drafting and rewriting pain.

Good afternoon everyone! I'm getting the urge to hack Sonic again, and will be working on my Sonic Drift disassembly/documenting more information about the game. I also have a dentist appointment tomorrow which I'm nervous about, I always get nervous before going to appointments. :S

At least you get to see a dentist. I have a tooth that's rotting in real-time, and I don't have the funds to see a dentist. And I need to find a different Dentist than Gentle Dental, because it seems that they're only into Dentistry for the money. At least, that's the feeling I got while I was in there last year.

Good morning! (And probably) good night; I hope today is a great day for everyone whom sees this. Work for me was soso last night, but I managed to get through it. Still waiting to hear back from the job application I sent out, but hopefully that is soon. I'm using the early morning to kick back with a few drinks before I slink off to bed. I'm also keeping on the path of learning how to code, but that's an adventure that will likely take awhile. Regardless, I hope the day is fruitful for you all! <3
