So, let's talk about our plans for world domination while sipping coffee, tea, Coke, or whatever fuels your day.

I'll go ahead and start.

Today, I'm going to work, despite being in the midst of the start of the Great Depression 2.0 (a run on Blackrock yesterday), potentially World War III, and my roommate is duking it out with Amazon because she's not a Prime member and the prices are different for something she needs. I'm going to go put on a uniform, and smile all day, while counting items on carts while customers exit the store, possibly get thrown onto a cash register, because for some reason, I have a feeling that today is going to be a busy day, and I have to keep the voices inside my head under control-- don't worry, they're all fictional anime characters for the various stories I'm working on, however, keeping in mind that the random explosions and shouting matches are quite distracting...

For breakfast today, I had a simple bowl of cereal, and a smoothie made with blackberries, orange juice, yogurt, and bananas with some shredded coconut flakes. That was pretty good. I just hope that I get the energy boost my body needs soon, because despite waking up two hours ago, I'm quite sleepy right now. Life hint: Don't get old. And don't work for a vampire if you can help it. I know in the USA, that's a really hard thing to accomplish though.

I think for lunch, I'll have left over chili I made last night. It'll give me an excuse to run to the bathroom an additional three times before the work day is over. Anyway, I gotta head out to work. Time to watch some more Slayers on the bus...

PS. My daily roll: 5

Well, congratulations. Yet another successful transition to Daylight Savings Time...
No, I don't care for DST.
I lost an hour of sleep. I'm already exhausted. And I still have to go to work. On a Sunday, when I have to be at work an hour earlier than normal too-- at nine instead of ten.

Anyway, I'm going to keep this entry short, because I gotta GOOOOOOOO!

Daily roll: 2 (Shit!)

Alright. Today is going to be a nice relaxed day for me. Nope. I'm not going to work today. No standing for hours on painful feet, nor ingesting five 800mg doses of Ibuprofen. You see, I got suspended yesterday. Because I was tardy. So I must fix this issue with the occasional tardiness. Meaning no more breakfast for me, unless its instantly ready, like cereal. Nothing that needs to be heated up. That takes too much time to prepare. I guess I could wake up earlier. Earlier than 04:30. I have to be at work at 10....

Moving on. I also figured out a couple days ago that I may possibly have Long Covid. It would explain the lack of concentration, the various bodily aches and pains, wheezing and shortness of breath, and the extreme exhaustion. Let me break this down.

Concentration. It's necessary to do any sort of mental task. Even things I love doing, like, Creative Writing. I used to be able to crank out a twenty-chapter fan-fiction in, like, two weeks. Granted, they were rough drafts, and written by hand, using actual paper, and my handwriting is kinda big, but those twenty pages could probably be typed between five and seven pages? Ten max. Anyway, I've noticed over the past few months that I can barely stay focused for more than a few paragraphs at at time! I see it in my role playing, I see it in Scrivener. I'm seeing it in this job application I'm shooting for. Answering five mock emails shouldn't be very time consuming, but it's a real struggle! Like, I know where all the answers are! And obviously, I can form thoughtful paragraphs-- I'm doing that right now! But I guarantee that I'll be tired after I get done writing this, and go drool on Threads or something for an hour afterwards, because I literally can not think anymore.

Pain. I've probably been overly numbing my body by consuming between 2400 mg and 5600 mg of Ibuprofen and between 2000 mg and 4000 mg of Tylenol. Like everyday. For like several months now. I need to take that much pain killer just to tolerate the pains to stand up all day and do my job. I'm probably also numbing my mind too. Reducing the amount of concentration I'm able to do. Like I struggle with multitasking too. I used to be really good at it. Now I get distracted constantly and forget what the hell I was even doing in the first place. Great, I've created a self-enforcing cycle. Lovely.

Breathing. I know I had Covid several months ago. I know because my roommate was tested for it, and showed a positive result. We live together. She got sick. I got sick. Had the same symptoms as she did. Pretty sure it was Covid as well. Anyway, ever since then, I've had chest congestion. At first I thought maybe it's just Bronchitis, then maybe Walking Pneumonia. I'd get winded just going up a single flight of stairs. Up a 10 degree incline. Carrying more than 25 pounds 100 feet. I'd have that deep chest cough too, but OMG, the wheezing, especially while laying down trying to fall asleep. I wanted to rip out my throat.

Exhaustion. This is the biggest symptom for me. It's not just feeling sluggish. It's life affecting. I fall asleep on the subway. On the bus. On my way TO WORK in the morning. After I've already had a cup of coffee. After my B12 vitamin. After eating fruits, things with natural sugars in them. I should have an explosion of energy. My leg should be bouncing-- because I've had Restless Leg Syndrome... but come to think about it, not in a long time now. Maybe I finally outgrew it? Or maybe it was a medication I was taking. Regardless, two days ago, I was walking the half mile from the bus stop to my job site. It was cold outside. My jacket doesn't zip up. I was cold. That should have snapped me awake. I felt like a zombie. Could barely keep my eyes open. My mind felt like clay. This is not normal. I had high energy music playing in my ears too. Really bouncy stuff. Stuff that makes you wanna dance, be-bop around. Nothing. At first, I was blaming my age. I'm 50 now. This happens to old people. My grandmother would be in the middle of a conversation, and then next thing I know, she's snoring. I'm just reaching that point in life where Narcolepsy is a thing, right?

So, now I'm calling my doctor and setting up an appointment to be tested. Although, there's not really a specific test for Long Covid. There's indicators, something about inflammation in the bloodstream? And there's no real treatment either. I'm looking at a recovery time period of 12 to 18 months. And if this is, indeed, what I have, then I'm already several months into it.

So I may not have Severe Depression, Occupational Burnout, or Excessive Elder Age Syndrome. I might just have this stupid Long Covid crap, and there's not really anything I can do about it! 😭

Anyway, with that out of the way (not that anybody's really going to read that book anyway...), Today, I'm going to try to relax. I might, mind you, might, clean something? But I'll probably definitely try to add to some of the role playing games here on the site.

Good morning!

Today I tried my hands at making French Toast! The first round was decent-- they were for my fiancee. My batch, however, well, I ate them. A bit crunchy, black in spots and hard. Apparently the pan really heats up that second batch a lot faster than the first batch cooked on... 😅

Today, I will probably finish up the first season of watching Slayers. So, I'm hoping to add some more topics of discussion dedicated to that anime.

Good morning!

So today, I guess I got involved in a war.
Cherries. Are they de-facto always included on a banana split?

My fiancee and I got into a rather heated debate about this, because we've got a lot of bananas to use up and ran out of the ingredients to make smoothies. So I suggested that I could make a banana split. I can make the ice cream, the whipped cream, we got coconut shavings, and I can make the chocolate syrup.

But she's throwing a tantrum because we don't have cherries. I'm like, but it's such a small ingredient that we don't need them, in fact, they are an optional topping. She insisted that they are always included.

So, what did she do? She took our debate to Threads, where apparently, she's losing. LOL Anyway, I'm going to go make some ice cream...

Good afternoon everyone. Hope you're all having a good morning, afternoon, evening and looking forward to the weekend.

Good morning!

We're having a beautiful sunny, yet cold day here in Boston.

Today I get to make a trip out to my local Redwing Boots store to get my feet measured (again). Did you know that your feet continue to grow after you've become an adult? I'm pretty confident that my feet are still the same lengthwise, but it appears that they grew widthwide and even are little meatier heightwise. Anyway, the whole adventure might take me four hours to complete. Most of that time is waiting for the public transportation and walking around the busy streets of Braintree just to get to the store. Who knows, maybe they'll have my size at the store, and I can walk out with a new pair of boots, instead of ordering directly from the company's website?

Anyway, time to get back to posting some awesomesauceness!

Daily Roll: 16!

Today's a first.

I fell asleep while standing up and taking a shower. I had to have. I entered the bathroom minutes before 05:00. I pooped. That was about 15 minutes. I got in the shower. I showered. I got out of the shower and dried off, it was 06:50. So either I went through some bastardized time warp, or I fell asleep while showering.

I know I'm tired. Like you've stayed up too late, and your eyes are all droopy and crap, and you feel like you could just pass out the moment your head touches the pillow? Yeah, I feel that. Right now. At 07:17. I still have eight hours of work to get through and about three hours of commuting back and forth to contend with. I'm gonna pass out on the bus. I already know it. I feel it.

I think I only drink coffee now for the flavor of coffee, or maybe just pure caffeine? I'm not sure which, but I know that caffeine isn't really doing much to keep my awake. Certainly not jittery, as is the result of most people my age. Anyway...

Daily Roll: 11! Not only a prime number, but a master number too? Okay. 😊

Yay! The Ides of March. Who's getting stabbed in the back today? 🤔

I'm dealing with a massive headache today. Yay. More work. Standing. Pain. Tried iced coffee for the first time this year. It's alright. No, I'm not a true Bostonian. I'm an import. Anyway...

Daily Roll: 5 (That's fitting. Five's in the Tarot are ... unpleasant.)

Decided I'm going to make Shakshouka for breakfast, since I've got all these tomatoes! It's a delectably delicious dish (say that five times fast!) that has its roots in the Mediterranean. I'm even trying this new spice blend called Za'atar, Although, the only thing I'm doing differently is that I'm not poaching the eggs. I'm overcooking them, because my partner doesn't like runny yolks.

Today is going to be a good day, despite it raining all day...

Daily roll: 4. (Well, that could have been better.... 😑)

Good morning, and happy St. Patrick's Day! (Hope you're wearing something green!) Unfortunately, my work uniform is all black, with some blue, but you'd never know during the colder months because the T-shirt that I wear is buried under a black hoodie. But I am wearing a green scrunchy, so there's that. Hopefully that'll be enough to convince the Leprechauns not to bite me...

Anyway, I got cereal layered with my last two bananas for breakfast today. And I hope that my BLAT wrap isn't all gross from two days ago, otherwise, I'm probably not eating lunch today. 😭

Daily roll: 20!!!!! (Ultimate Success! Today's going to be a good day.... now I just need to find a first born child to sacrifice to whatever deity blessed this most epic result to me. Hmmm.)

So, yesterday I had the day off. No power at work. That natural 20 really was an epic level event. Bonus, I got a call that my boots were in, so I got to make the trip out to the store to pick them up. They fit! A little tight on the top, over my foot, but that will stretch. So I took them home and put a good base coat of polish on them. It's only three layers deep right now, I want between five and ten. And I may have to purchase another tin of polish! I'm a bit rusty at shining shoes. I mean the last time I did it was when I was like 23?

Today's goal: I hope to create another segment for one of my role playing games.
Daily Roll: 13.

Wow, so what a day. I had a doctor's appointment scheduled for today. And it's an adventure just getting there. Two subway connections and a potential bus connection or walking lots. Needless to say, I'm tired. And that was my condition before I left!

Anyway, I told the Doc all my ailments. He prescribed an inhaler for my wheezing and shortness of breath...said I'm supposed to sit down after I use it because I could be dizzy. Yeah, I don't see that happening at my job.... Had a nine vials of blood drawn for various tests, had a chest X-ray, and a bunch of prescriptions renewed while I was there, because, why not? All in all, that trip costed me $70 (that I don't really have), so now I've gotta figure out how I'm going to make that money up to cover my rent for the month.

Anyway, for lunch I'm making pepperoni and cheese melts...

Daily Roll: Nat 1. Great.... I'm screwed.

Okay, so today, I'm a bit later than usual. Today's the first day of Spring, so let's hope that this means we're finally done with any temperature under 40°F?

In other news, I'm nearly got my job application complete, along with a new cover letter (god, I hate writing those things). Let's hope that this crusty old girl has what it takes to get a 40% income increase! $45K/year is more money than I've ever made! And I'd love to get back into a more of a Help Desk role. Bonus, it's 100% remote!

Daily Roll: 2. (Not looking all that optimistic, are we?)

Hey y'all, what's going on?

It's been awhile since I was here and I've been through so much with my mental health struggles, which I'm still doing as of this writing. Just wish someone talk to me, listen and hear me out.

Well, today is Saturday. The second day of Spring. And in other words, my Monday. I have no doubts that chaos will ensue at work today. As we enter the realm of the Home Shopper-- the idiots who don't read signage, assume that they're always right, and try to pay with an EBT card or personal check-- see above note about reading....

Today I noticed I have two nasty bruises just above my angles on my calves. Yup, my new boots were apparently tied on too tightly the other day, so I can't wear them until these bruises heal, and that could take another couple of weeks. So, I'm in store for some more foot pain. Yay. Me. Already amped up on 800 mg of Ibuprofen and 1000 mg of Tylenol, and trying very hard to keep my eyes open. I guess I can take a quick nap on the bus-- as usual.

Daily Roll: 7. (Maybe I'll have some good luck today?)
PS... Good morning, y'all!
