Yeah, I was a bad girl. I broke a rule on Reddit, although I disagree with the automoderation involved. Five days ago I posted an off-handed remark about what I saw to be a futuristic event. I got banned for three days. I go to log in today, and the ban is still in effect, stating that I have -2 days remaining!
I haven't been banned yet but I've heard stories about how ban happy some moderators can be. I've also heard of people being banned from specific subs because they commented once in a sub that the moderators didn't like.
I had to come back to this thread to rant about Reddit. I didn't get banned, but one of my members shared the link to my Gex Forum on the Gex Subreddit with the opening line "Come join the Gex forums" and someone simply commented "No" so I replied to the person "Why not? Generally curious since I own the forum." I got downvoted twice for it. God forbid a guy tries to get feedback to improve his forum on Reddit. I usually don't have much of a problem on reddit but lately I have been, I want to keep my streak going though. :V Did you ever get unbanned from Reddit?
I eventually created a second account. That account got totally banned within six months. I haven't been back to Reddit other than a casual READ here and there.
I've been hanging around on Threads and SubStack much more.
