Writing Fan-Fiction

So, I guess I'm a motherly-figure on another forum, and I'm helping somebody dive into writing their very first Fan-Fiction. And that got me to thinking about all the different things that I've written in the past. How I started, where I ended up, and how I write today.

How are you most comfortable writing? Do you prefer using a Third Person Perspective (as a Director would see everything happening), or rather First Person Perspective (as an Actor, experiencing everything happening)?

What themes do you prefer to write about? Love, conflict, general adventure?

How long do you like to make your fictions? Do you prefer shorter, fast and gritty pieces, or do you prefer longer think pieces with lots of emotional tugs?

Do you have any favorite characters? Or series that you just never get tired of writing?

Whenever I wrote fan fiction in the past, I often wrote in third person. I think there was one time I wrote from the perspective of my character, but others said it sounded too much like a script lol. It's been a while since I've written fanfiction though. I mainly only wrote Teen Titans fanfics haha.

I write mostly in third person. Other perspectives are one of those things that get me the stink eye from other writers. I love writing about action, adventure, fantasy, heroicss, coming of age, magical girl stuff, and sub-themems about romance, people gettin' nomfed be it by monsters or the last person you'd expect--the nice girl, comedy, angst, slice of life, and horror.

I... have never written a fic longer than a short story that'd take up only a page or two in a proper book. I get lonely and frustrated writing on my own, which is why roleplaying i such a big deal for me. But I prefer READING longer works, and hold them in higher regard.

Some of my favorite characters are Princess Peach, Arle Nadja, Ciel from Mega Man, Amy Rose, Usagi Tsukino--Leaf/Green, Dawn, Iris, Lillie, and Marnie from Pokemon, and of course my OC Mallory! Some of my favorite series to write in are Madou Monogatari, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Zelda, and Mega Man
