All fixed! Thank you for being my guinea pig! Setting up my old forum's (SMF) payment system worked without much configuration. Apparently, I missed a tiny little step in the setup (this method is by far more flexible and secure).

I have fixed the problem (hopefully), and see that payment was applied (via Stripe). I've manually applied the upgrade.
