Magical Fury, is a table top role playing game that focuses on the Magical Girl genre, with rules that are a hybrid between your typical Powered By the Apocalypse (PBtA) and Maid the RPG. Meaning that it uses the same dice and is set up to use Random Roll tables like Maid, and it has Moves and a simple roll result check system that's similar to PBtA. The core book is only 34 pages, and although it does have some artwork in it, it's a pretty basic document that lacks much distraction from reading the actual rules of the game.

The plot of most games set within this System is fairly straight forward. You'll be a magical girl. No ifs ands or buts about that. For some reason, only females have access to the abilities of magic. And no, you may not necessarily start out as a teenager. You could be like Megan, a 32 year-old who has a dead-end job in a video game company. You create your magical girl character through a series of d66 rolls. Meaning you take two six-sided dice, preferably of two different colors, and designate one of the dice to be the Tens, and the other of the two dice to be the Ones. You don't add them, you append them. For example, if you roll a 2 and a 6, you have 26.

The core book has a walk-through example in the first few pages, however, you can flip towards the back of the book (starting on page 18) and find all the Random Roll tables, which gives you lots of additional options. I've found that you can make a pretty complex character just by rolling for one value on each table. As for the Character Sheet, you'll find a pretty simple one on page 35. Literally, you can just use a piece of blank paper and write down the roll results to each question. The character sheet doesn't list specific special abilities or skills, but it's mainly used to keep track of the three Shifts that are required to monitor to play the game. These are Hope, Magic, and Trauma. Shifts are described starting on page 14.
