Let's talk about Cyberpunk, as a genre, shall we?
What elements define this genre?
Well, first there's the technology. At least that's one of the first things that comes to my mind when I think of Cyberpunk. It's the Internet as a God. There's also the fashion... and I'm not just talking about all the leather and blackness. Nah, there's chrome! Limbs and organs that have been replaced with synthetic parts made of non-rusting metallic alloys, computer chips that have been implanted into brains, and eyeballs that have been modified to record every tiny detail. Counter-culture is a big part of Cyberpunk. After all, the entire theme is about sticking it to the Man... the Big Cheese, the corporate executives, that while they live their lives in obscene luxury, everybody else is living in a dystopian hellscape of a dumpster fire. Kinda like the United States in 2025.
People are living by any means necessary, and unfortunately, that means becoming a corporate man's little be-atch. So you do a job, A-Team style. Mercenaries contracted out for hire, taking bids, smuggling illicit stuff-- probably not drugs or porno though. Those things are totally legal. Corpo-man gets to make a profit off those vices. There's also the more elaborate jobs, like hacking, espionage, and extracting people. Let's not forget about all the hardware-- I'm talking big guns and even bigger guns. Yeah, everybody's a bad-ass...
