Just in case this ever happens to you, don't be an idiot like I am.
I just had a situation where my mouse cursor would vanish, unless I moved it. So I looked at some websites, I tried rebooting my computer. The problem was the same. I also tried to jiggle the wire, and ensured that the USB port was firmly seated. After messing around with the cables, I noticed that my mouse had stopped being responsive! The cursor was stuck over in the far right corner of my screen.
After panicking for a few moments I reached over for some coffee and noticed something I had completely forgotten about-- my drawing tablet! The pen for my tablet was resting on tablet and I guess was resting in such a position that it was confusing my computer! I lifted the pen, placed it firmly on to the side of the tablet, and low and behold, my mouse worked perfectly again.
Don't forget about your stupid drawing tablet that you like never end up using because you haven't bothered to learn how to draw digitally yet...
Yeah, I've got the Baka Award.
