I've watched anime for a good twenty years, and during that time, the introduction to some shows just get your blood pumping with excitement. Even before I understood the lyrics behind my first song-love, I'm A Pioneer!, from Tenchi Muyo!, I would feel that epic level of excitement every time the music began to play. Then when I started learning the lyrics, and eventually heard the English translation of the song, sung by Sharyn Scott, I was even more excited about the song. Here I was a young thirty-something year-old, and this song was describing life as an adventure. Needless to say, I adopted it into my personality, which could explain some interesting quirks about my life.
The next song to make a huge impact upon me, was Happy Material from Negima!. This is a highly energetic song, and while I still don't understand what all the words mean, it doesn't matter because my body just begins to move with the rhythm of the song. The third edition of this song, "-- A Happier Version", is my ultimate favorite rendition of it because it seems much more energetic, and always leaves me feeling happier after I listen to it.
There's a third song that I adore, and because of it, I actually searched out the anime for it. Amulet, from Hani Hani Operation Sanctuary is a catchy tune that leaves me feeling good. This song also introduced me to the fact that sometimes anime can be born from a JRPG, or Visual Novel.
There are many other songs that I enjoy listening to within the J-POP genre, what are some of your favorites? Chances are, I may have be-bopped to it.
