I know for myself, listening to music really helps to get the Creative Juices flowing (I think it tastes like Orange), and I have several music lists configured depending what I'm trying to write.  Typically for romance, I'll listen to 80s Pop, for typical Slice of Life events, I'll either listen to Classic Rock or Classical (sometimes).  For combat-intensive scenes though, I found that a good high-energy J-POP song does the trick.

I do! I like to listen to lo-fi when I'm writing. I find that anything with lyrics stops me from focusing on what I'm writing. The pains of an ADHD addled mind I guess lol

When I'm on my computer writing then I will have music playing in the background usually. Normally, I'll have YouTube up so that I can have my music playing in the background and it's usually some type of classical music playing.

I'm totally split on this! Sometimes I need complete silence to focus, but other times the right playlist just gets me in the zone. Instrumental stuff works best for me - anything with lyrics and I start singing along instead of writing.

Have you tried listening to music from other cultures in other languages. I find a lot of instrumental music to be too soothing sometimes to write with in the background. Like I mentioned above, it's one reason why I listen to J-POP so much. But I've also found some good Indian (from India) music that puts me in the creative mood as well.

Yes I mostly listen to English, Arabic, and a few French, indian or Spanish songs but the funny part is I never understand a single word of the French and Spanish ones :D I focus more on the melody and rhythm without getting distracted by what they're saying.

Yes. My preference is quiet music. I noticed that I think better with it especially when listening to piano or background music. I don't listen to songs with lyrics because I might lose concentration.

I do! I mostly listen to video game music that helps get my adrenaline pumping. So a lot of battle music, covers, not a lot of lyrics. It helps pull me out of my sleepy / inactive phase.

Honestly, that's part of why I don't listen to music with vocals as much. :P The lyrics compete with the words I'm trying to write for word processing attention span.
