Now that I've had a chance to read a bit more about this system, it does appear to be much more streamlined than Shadow Run is. For one, character creation shouldn't take nearly as long. It's not as complicated. I just got done talking with the creator of the system via Discord, and finally understand that the Qualities that I was looking for don't exist. Actually, there's no such concept in NewEdo. There are core aspects, but the adjectives that help to define the core character concept (in my personal quest for Qualities), are just written down as part of the Background for the character. Meaning that I don't have to carefully balance Positive character effects with Negative character effects (Thermographic Vision versus Uneducated for example.)
The bulk of the character concept is defined within the Linage and Path of the character, with the character profile being built by using the Priority System, a streamlined/simplified system designed to quickly put a character together by using more abstract thoughts or concepts. Shadow Run 5e introduced a similar system that uses five areas that define a character. Using a Priority System, you can compile a character within half an hour, there's no need to painstakingly pick and choose each tidbit or quirk using Points, then having to calculate to ensure that you didn't go over your budget.
I'm going to attempt to build my first character using this system and see how she compares to the Shadow Run types of characters that I'm used to building and running.
